BAKERSFIELD, CA. — CSUB will host an active shooter training session today at noon in the Stockdale Room.

The training is only available for CSUB staff and students.

“We also talk about the survival mindset because these things have become more and more prevalent across the nation," said Marty Williamson, Chief of CSUB Police.

Students on campus say they hope to learn how to react in an active shooter situation through the training.

“There’s only going to be a few people who actually know how to tackle these events and if I can be one of those people I’ll be able to inform my classmates or staff members," said Aaron Wan, CSUB student.

Bakersfield College will also hold an active shooter training for BC staff and students today at noon at BC's Levan Center.
