Daniel McKie, the Tehachapi man who killed a 4-month-old, was sentenced to 25 years to life Tuesday morning.
Daniel McKie was convicted in September of first-degree murder and assault of a child under 8 resulting in death in connection with the death of 4-month-old Anakin William McKie. In February of 2017 Anakin died of blunt injuries to the head.
In an interview with 23ABC News , McKie said the baby's death was an accident and that he was holding Anakin when he turned and tripped on Anakin's oxygen equipment, falling into the corner of the room and onto a cedar chest.
