BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The time is finally here to move your clocks forward an hour.

Daylight saving time will begin Sunday at 2 a.m., when clocks will be moved one hour ahead, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

DST will end on the first Sunday of November at 2 a.m., when clocks are set back one hour back to standard time.

"This has the effect of creating more sunlit hours in the evening during months when the weather is the warmest," according to NIST.
