After five years of being open to the Bakersfield community, De Coeur Bakeshop is closing its doors in downtown Bakersfield for good.
De Coeur Bakeshop owner Mai Giffard has been chosen for a position alongside American chef Grant Achatz's in Chicago, Illinois, leading her to close the business.
The French inspired patisserie will be open the week of Dec. 19th through Dec. 22nd with the limited hours of 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. The bakeshop will fulfill existing orders up until Dec. 30th, however they will not accept any new ones.
All gift cards for the bakeshop will be able to be redeemed for a full cash value as well.
As for the location, the 1818 part of the bakeshop will be the home for Better Bowls, a vegan bowl restaurant, and the 1820 portion of the bakeshop will go to Rig City Roasting Co.
