Man arrested for giving Delano church fake money

Delano Police officials said they arrested a man on Wednesday after he was caught  placing a fake $100 bill in a offering plate at the Guadalupe Church back in December.

Officials said on December 27th, The suspect went inside the Guadalupe Church and placed a fictitious $100 bill inside the offering plate and requested change from the usher.

Delano PD officials said the usher recognized the bill as being fictitious and notified the Delano Police Department. The suspect fled prior to the arrival of police.

With the assistance of our Facebook followers and the hard work of the men and women of the Delano Police Department's Detective Division, 33 year old Jesus Cruz of Delano was identified and arrested on Wednesday.

Cruz was questioned about the incident and admitted to passing the fictitious bill.

Coincidentally, the sweater Cruz was wearing when he passed the fictitious $100 bill was the same sweater he was wearing during his arrest.
