DELANO, Calif. — A Delano man has been sentenced for receipt and distribution of child pornography, according to U.S. officials.
On Monday, a U.S. District Judge sentenced 33-year-old Steven Andrew Dobson to ten years in prison followed by ten years of supervised release, for receiving and distributing child pornography in Kern County.
Court documents say that from around March 1, 2016, through November 11, 2016, Dobson received and distributed between 150 and 300 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct through the internet. The images also involved depictions of violence, and depictions of prepubescent minors.
Dobson's case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
