Delano man surrenders, arrested after standoff with SWAT

DELANO, Calif. — A 62-year-old Delano man was arrested for drug paraphernalia and delaying an investigation after standoff with SWAT, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said on Monday around 6:30 a.m., they were dispatched to a report of shots fired inside a trailer-home on County Line Road. Deputies from other substations were also called out and surrounded the home. Officials said they could hear a disturbance from an unknown number of people inside.

After deputies were called out for the people to exit the home, there was no response, according to KCSO. This is when SWAT was called out to the home prompting a standoff.

After several hours, Armando Martinez came out of the trailer and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Central Receiving Facility for delaying an official investigation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
