Delano Police arrested a woman Monday who they said killed her own mother. 

Police said on Monday they were dispatched to the 2300 block of Thomas Way near 23rd Avenue to check the welfare of Eufracia Petersen, 77. 

Officials said officers talked to Josie Alba Peterson, 48, who told the officers her mother had died. 

Officers said they went in the house and found Eufracia, deceased from obvious signs of trauma, lying on the floor.

Josie Alba Petersen was arrested for murder and booked into the Kern County Jail.

She is currently being held without bail and is expected to face a judge on Wednesday.
