DELANO, Calif. — The Delano Police Department is investigating after a woman was found dead in a field Thursday evening.

According to Delano PD, around 5:45 p.m. on May 23, officers were dispatched to the area of County Line Road and Road 128 for a body that was found within a field. Delano PD says a woman was located and has yet to be identified.

Delano PD says the cause and manner of death are pending a post-mortem examination by the Kern County Coroner's Office.

Delano PD says the woman is believed to be in her late 20s or early 30s.

According to Delano PD, preliminary details believed a vehicle located in the area may have been involved, however it has since been ruled out.
