DELANO, Calif. — According to officials a 78-year-old woman died over the weekend after she was hit by a charter bus in Delano.

Delano police say that on Sunday around 3:44 p.m. they were dispatched to the area of 11th Avenue and Glenwood Street regarding a crash. When they arrived on the scene they found Gabina Lagroma suffering from her injuries.

Cops say Lagroma was within a marked cross walk at the time of the incident.

She was taken to Kern Medical where she later died.

Officials are reporting that speed, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in this collision and the driver of the charter bus is complying fully with this investigation.
