Delano Police: one person arrested, one at-large after Tuesday shooting

Delano Police are looking for a suspect wanted for a shooting that occurred Tuesday morning, one other person is in custody.

 

Delano Police officers were dispatched just after 1:00 a.m. to a confidential location within the City of Delano.

 

Officers learned that a victim had been shot by the occupants of a white SUV in the 900 Block of Oxford Street a short time earlier.

 

Two people were identified as suspects who had shot the victim.

 

At about 3:30a.m., the suspect vehicle was located driving near Garces Highway and Lexington Street, where a high risk stop was conducted.

 

The sole occupant, Jaime Castaneda 32 of Delano, was arrested for Attempted Murder, Conspiracy and Gang Participation charges.

 

 

The Delano Police Department Detectives and Patrol Divisions along with the Kern County Sheriff’s Department S.W.A.T. team conducted simultaneous search warrant services within the 600 Block of Jefferson Street.

 

Officers were attempting to locate the second identified suspect, Ezequiel Castaneda, 23 of Delano, but Ezequiel was not located.

 

The Delano Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding Ezequiel Castaneda’s whereabouts, to call the Delano Police Department TIP line at (661) 721-3369.

 

Ezequiel Castaneda has a warrant for his arrest for Attempted Murder, Conspiracy and Gang Participation charges. Castaneda is considered armed and dangerous and if seen, please call the law enforcement jurisdiction nearest you.
