Delano residents warned about discolored water

Delano City officials released this following statement: 

Announcement Regarding City of Delano Discolored Water. The City of Delano received calls from the public Sunday morning at 8am reporting discolored water. 

The City responded immediately, finding the source of water discoloration at Well 26, which in is the vicinity of Browning Road and County Line Road in northeast Delano.

At approximately 8:30am, the problem was identified and remediated and the lines were flushed. 

The City will continue to flush the lines to remove any residual color in the water. After reviewing and discussing with the State Water Board, it was determined that no further action is needed at this time.

The City of Delano Public Works Department, in concurrence with the State Water Board, recommends the following:

?     Residents that experience colored water to flush their faucets by running for several minutes.

?     If the problem continues and colored water continues to come out of their faucets, residents are advised to contact the City of Delano at 661-721-3377.
