DELANO, Calif. — At Monday night's meeting, the Delano City Council is set to discuss a resolution that would make Delano a sanctuary city.

The resolution, originally proposed by Council Member Bryan Osorio suggested formally declaring Delano a sanctuary city and taking strides toward protecting the immigrant community.

Members of the council said in the past they would be interested in moving forward as long as everything falls in line with SB 54, the bill that makes California a sanctuary state.

The resolution was tabled at the council's last meeting but will be picked back up again Monday night.
