The Democratic Women of Kern luncheon was held on Saturday, September 8 with Dolores Huerta as the keynote speaker. The luncheon was titled, 'Women in Politics' and takes place annually.

The luncheon took place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Petroleum Club in Southwest Bakersfield.

Bakersfield City Council member Andrae Gonzales served as an emcee for the event.

Participants at the event took part in a silent auction and were able to mingle with some of Bakersfield's most prominent Democratic leaders.

Proceeds from the event supported local scholarships, candidates and measures and initiatives to better our community.
