A Denver-area athlete participating in the IRONMAN championships was disqualified after a woman on a bicycle assisted him, KMGH-TV in Denver reported.
The woman gave him ChapStick, which he used during the event.
Triathlete Matt Smith was cited for Unauthorized Assistance and issued a stop-and-go yellow card penalty of 30-45 seconds.
Smith was seen several more times receiving unauthorized assistance and notified of his disqualification at the finish line, KMGH-TV reported.
