WELLINGTON, Fla. (WPTV) — Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in the area of The Mall at Wellington Green.

The shooting happened at 5:45 p.m.

According to authorities, the suspect shot at deputies and struck a K-9 officer. The K-9 is at a veterinarian emergency center. No word on his condition.

The suspect was shot by deputies and is currently at a local hospital.

"This continues to be a very active incident," said Captain Albert Borroto with the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

The mall is on lockdown at this time.
