BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On May 23, Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union and Ridgecrest Cinemas will host drive-in movie event open to the public in hopes to raise money for first responders.

While the event is free to the public, donations of $10 a car are asked. It will be held in the Ridgecrest Cinemas parking lot, located at 1631 Triangle Dr, Ridgecrest, CA 93555.

The first $500 will be matched by Desert Valleys.

All donations will then be converted to gift cards for first responders and medical professionals.

The film shown will be "The Goonies," with the show starting at 8:30 p.m. but parking will start at 7 p.m.
