Within the last several days the Kern County Sheriff’s Office has received several reports of a possible animal abuse case involving a dog in the city of Boron. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the people who took the time to contact the Sheriff’s Office regarding a picture of the dog posted to Facebook which appeared to show the dog possibly being abused and or neglected.
On May 16th and May 17th, deputies from the Mojave substation responded to the home in the 24000 block of Juniper Avenue in Boron and found the dog was being adequately cared for.
Additionally, an officer from Kern County Animal Services responded to the home on May 17th and also found the dog was properly being cared for, was not being abused or mistreated, and was in good health.
The owners were issued a citation for not licensing the dog.
Again, the Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the individuals who took the time to report this situation to the Sheriff’s Office so that we could investigate the allegations.
