A KCSO Detentions Deputy was arrested for allegedly sending "sexually explicit" Snapchat messages to a Wasco High School student.

According to KCSO, on November 15, the student reported to a school administrator that they had been receiving sexually explicit Snapchat messages from 23-year-old Miguel Saldana. The administrator contacted KCSO, who began an investigation into the allegations. During the investigation, detectives learned Saldana was attempting to obtain sexual favors from the student via Snapchat messages.

Saldana was contacted by KCSO on November 15 where he was taken into custody without incident. Saldana was subsequently booked into the Central Receiving Facility for felony Penal Code Sections, 288.4(b), 288.2(a), 288.3 and the misdemeanor Penal Code Sections, 288.4(a)(1), 647.6(a)(1).

Saldana is currently employed as a Detentions Deputy with KCSO. He has been employed with KCSO for approximately 2 years. Saldana is also a volunteer assistant coach at Wasco High School. He was placed on administrative leave after being arrested.

The Wasco Union High School District released this statement on the matter:
