Disney starting their own streaming service, leaving Netflix exclusive deal

The Walt Disney Company is starting their own streaming service and will be leaving their exclusive Netflix deal.

The service will be the exclusive home for subscription-on-demand viewing of the newest live action and animated DIsney and Pixar movies.

This service will begin with the 2019 theatrical slate inlcluding Toy Story 4, the sequel to Frozen, and the Disney live-action version of The Lion King. 

Disney will also make an investment into an annual slate of original movies, TV shows, short-form content, and other Disney-branded exclusives for the services. 

The service will feature previous content by Disney and Pixar movies, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD.

Disney will ultimately be pulling their content from Netflix, beginning with the 2019 theatrical slate.
