The transcript below details radio traffic recorded during the Bakersfield Police officer involved shooting on Dec. 12 around 12:30 a.m. in the 7900 block of Silver Birch Ave.

Dispatch: We have a poor phone connection but caller said that someone is outside with a gun.

Dispatch: The (inaudible) we have is 15 years old and says his parents are outside with the said subject

Dispatch: calling all units to copy **** Silver Birch

Dispatch: …mid-60s, brown jacket, unknown if under the influence. Armed with a revolver. Go to the front.

Officer: Subject’s going to be from ****, just across the street.

Officer: Subject came outside with a revolver, 417 (inaudible), then returned to his house

Dispatch: Subject is from **** Silver Birch. He came outside (inaudible) with a revolver then returned to his house.

Dispatch: For information, there’s a hazard for **** Silver Birch across the street. For a Francisco Serna, reported as to having dementia.

Officer: He’s in the road with his hands in his pocket. Not compliant

Dispatch: Subject in roadway, hands in pockets, not complying

Officer: Subject still not compliant

Officer: Suspect in custody have medical aid respond. Going to be in the driveway of ****.
