The Kern County District Attorney's Office received a grant to fund a prosecution team that will work DUI cases from arrest through to the point of conviction as well as sentencing.
The DA's office received a $220,259 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and will be utilizing that money to make sure DUI cases in Kern County, especially those of repeat offenders, and those involved in fatal or major injury crashes face high-trained prosecutors.
The prosecution team members will work with California's Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Training Network to ensure that both knowledge and resources are expanded within the office.
"This grant continues the highly successful partnership with OTS which provides us with the capability handling highly complex DUI homicides and dangerous repeat offenders" said District Attorney Lisa S. Green.
