BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a case of possible child abuse, according to court documents.
The investigation began on April 9 where Child Protective Services were called for a report of possible abuse. Investigators interviewed the alleged victim, a 6-year-old boy at his school.
The boy told investigators that his mother had hit him seven times on his right arm with a possible electrical cord.
CPS has said that the mother has had previous cases of "physical abuse and domestic violence neglect" on record.
No charges have been filed and no arrest has been made at this time.
