BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police are investigating a moving scam that they believe was carried out by a local moving company.
According to court documents obtained by 23ABC, on June 30, a woman said she hired a moving company under the name, "Flagship Van Lines" to move her from Bakersfield to Northern Montana.
She said they picked up the property on July 5, but never delivered it. Since that time, U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Ohio federally indicted the company on racketeering charges.
More than 900 victims have been found or have come forward so far. Several of the allegedly stolen items were recovered by the search warrant.
