BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man is behind bars accused of raping and holding a woman against her will at a hotel in East Bakersfield.
According to documents obtained by 23ABC, on February 25, a woman reported being raped and held against her will at the Residence Inn Courtyard on Union Avenue.
She said the suspect kept her in the room starting on February 18, but she eventually escaped. Later, according to investigators, she went back to the hotel and the suspect choked and raped her.
Documents said that an investigation by BPD lead to the arrest of 55-year-old Reginald Moland. He is facing several felony charges including rape by force and false imprisonment with violence. He is due in court on Thursday.
