BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man is facing three felony charges including rape by force, kidnapping and robbery.

According to police records, on December 6, a woman reported to officers that a man claiming to be an "undercover cop from South America" approached her at the Greyhound Bus Station in Bakersfield.

Police said that she said the man took her purse and threatened to assault her. She told police that the suspect took her to a dumpster area and then raped her. After the sexual assault, the suspect took her purse and fled.

Bakersfield Police arrested Jerell Edward Brown on March 13. He is due in court on March 15.
