Local civil rights activist Dolores Huerta held a virtual press conference expressing solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. She said its time for the country to understand what has caused this anger.

The Dolores Huerta Foundation said they recognize the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. They believe these deaths are the direct consequences of systemic police brutality and white supremacy in the United States.

They went on to say the Dolores Huerta Foundation stands in solidarity with black activists protesting police brutality.

Huerta and her staff members also shared their personal experiences with police and racism.
