Downtown Bakersfield will start June with the ArtWalk at First Friday.

The Art Council hosts the monthly event downtown showcasing some of the best artists and craftsmen in Kern County. Over 60 artists are expected to be set up outside along with food vendors and live music.

The event will be between 5 to 9 p.m. Friday June 1st. It will be outside Downtown between H Street and Chester Avenue and from 20th Street to 18th Street. Those streets will be closed during the event and drivers should expect them to close in preparation of First Friday.

Downtown officials encourage drivers to use the Eye Street parking lot for the event.
