Martin’s Meats and Deli Market in downtown Bakersfield is holding a fundraiser Thursday benefiting AIDS.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Ricky’s Retreat, Bakersfield’s AIDS Project.  From 10a.m. to 6 p.m., 100 percent of the sales from the $10 Deep Pit Meal will go toward the nonprofit.

“We know the importance of these services for our people,” Audrey Chavez, founder and director of Ricky’s Retreat and co-owner of Martin’s Meats, said. “This is one way for people in Kern County to show their support.”

Ricky’s Retreat is an all-volunteer organization serving those with AIDS in Kern County as well as providing education and prevention.
