Armando Enriquez-Venegas was convicted by a jury Thursday morning of all counts surrounding the death of Felipe de Jesus Dominguez.

Venegas was convicted of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

On May 13, 2015 around 9:30 p.m., Venegas pulled in front of a Volvo semi-truck that was traveling eastbound on State Route 46 near Wasco.

The semi-truck hit the passenger side of the vehicle driven by Venegas, killing the passenger, Felipe de Jesus Dominguez, on impact.

Venegas told officers he had smoked cocaine or used meth, but was not sure which. Tests showed he had high levels of methamphetamine in his system.

Venegas’ sentencing is set for January 9, 2017. He faces up to four years in prison.
