A man was hospitalized after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a building in east Bakersfield late Sunday night.
According to the Kern County Fire Department, the driver crashed his Chevy Silverado into a building in the 4500 block of Morning Drive, near Highway 178, just after 10 p.m. Sunday.
The driver was the only person in the pickup. He was taken to a hospital. It's not known what injuries he suffered.
Fire officials say the building sustained damage to a wall and that there was extensive water damage to the building due to fire sprinklers going off.
