The driver in a deadly crash in Northeast Bakersfield in July accepted a plea deal Monday.
Tony Bailey, 22, was driving under the influence of alcohol when he drove off an embankment on July 8, causing the two passengers to sustain fatal injuries as they were ejected from the vehicle.
Bailey pled no contest to one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury.
The charges of a .08 alcohol level DUI with bodily injury, driving with a suspended license, and willful cruelty to a child were dismissed.
Bailey’s sentencing is set for November 18.
