The Bakersfield Police Department shut down lanes of Quantico Avenue near East Brundage Lane in east Bakersfield after they were called about shots fired and a man with a gun.

When officers arrived on scene, they heard what sounded like gunshots, but they say they have not been able to locate evidence of a shooting.

Police have been sweeping buildings in the area in case someone was hiding with a gun. Over a dozen police vehicles were seen on scene, as well as a police helicopter.
