(UPDATE 12:00PM) -- According to rescue Bakersfield Fire Department, they responded to a reported single-vehicle rollover accident on the Westside Parkway at Coffee Road.
 
When Firefighters reported a single-vehicle rollover accident with the driver “pinned-in” on the Westside Parkway (eastbound) just west of Coffee Road.

BFD Engine Company Firefighters deployed a hoseline to address potential fire control and began assessing the driver.

BFD Firefighters determined that the driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. All eastbound lanes were closed as a result of the accident and drivers are advised to avoid the area. 
 
No Firefighter injuries were reported. 
 

Eastbound Westside Parkway near Calloway Drive will be shut down until about 1 p.m. due to a fatal crash near Coffee Road Thursday morning.

The vehicle crashed into the pole near the Coffee Road off ramp.

An officer with the Bakersfield Police Department said that the driver of the full-sized pickup truck died after crashing into the pole.
