BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE: CHP said eastbound lanes of Highway 58 are being reopened.
Officials said they will be in the area to keep traffic moving at a safe speed.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 58 are shut down due to heavy snow and multiple spinouts.
The westbound lanes are expected to stay open.
We are in the process of closing SR58 due to snow. Please choose an alternate route. We’re also receiving snow on SR166 at Grocer Grade west of Maricopa. At this time SR166 is open. #trafficalert
