An elderly man was rescued Thursday evening after falling into steep, rocky terrain on Mil Portrero Rd., just east of Pine Mountain Club.
The man was in the terrain for two to three hours before a passerby saw him and called law enforcement.
Crews set up a low angle rope system to bring the man and transfer him to a nearby hospital.
The man sustained cuts and bruises, according to Kern County Fire Department. No fire personnel were injured in the rescue.
Kern County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and Hall Ambulance crews assisted in the rescue.
