Former Kern County Sheriff's deputy Ed Tucker missed Tuesday's scheduled court appearance because he was "medically unavailable".
Tucker, the deputy who escaped custody last year, sparking a manhunt, left a court-appointed rehab facility last week, leading to another search.
He was found in Lake Isabella. A law enforcement source tells 23ABC Tucker swallowed an unknown amount of codeine pills.
He was scheduled to be in court Tuesday morning, facing charges tied to his probation violation. But he did not show up. Tucker's attorney said he was surprised Tucker didn't show up this morning.
