If you commute on the 178, you may want to plan your trips accordingly next week, as construction will continue for the Widening Project.
City of Bakersfield officials said motorists should anticipate short delays on State Route 178, between Valley Street and Alfred Harrell Highway, next starting on Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
This will affect both directions of travel.
Traffic will be stopped for no longer than 10 minutes at a time to conduct earthmoving operations and to allow trucks placing aggregate base to enter and exit the work zone.
Motorists and are advised to take alternate routes or allow extra time to reach their destination.
