Today marks the three year anniversary of the death of Bakersfield Police officer David Nelson. 

Bakersfield Police Chief Lyle Martin releasing this statement today in his memory: 

"Every day as we walk the halls of the department, we see David's photo and are reminded of his sacrifice and the community's loss. Today my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will never be forgotten."
