Payless stores may be closing, but a family is providing a bit of good news as they give back in a big way.
Arkansas mom Carrie Jernigan told KFSM-TV that she was with her kids, taking advantage of a closeout sale at Payless when the idea hit her.
Jernigan said her oldest daughter helped spike the idea when asking about a pair of 'Avengers' shoes. She asked her mom if they could buy the shoes for a boy in her class that loves the superhero movies, but his shoes are always too small.
As she was checking out, the mom jokingly asked how much it would take to buy out the entire store. After leaving her number with the clerk, she later got a call form the district manager.
In total, the family purchased about 1,500 pairs of shoes that she plans to give back to adults and kids in the area.
