A local family held a carwash Saturday, September 10 to help bring back a woman who was detained in Mexico for being an undocumented immigrant. The family is raising money to pay for their lawyer. 

Consuelo Lopez's wife, Carolina Gomez, was brought into the U.S. illegally when she was five years old. For the past two and a half years she has been talking with a former immigration officer who was helping them get paperwork done. 

Nearly three weeks ago, Consuelo and Carolina has an appointment at the embassy in Juarez, Mexico but her request for a green card was denied because she went to the U.S. illegally. 

Consuelo and Carolina have been married for five yeas and have seven children, including one daughter who is in the Navy.
