A federal civil lawsuit has been filed against the City of Bakersfield in relation to a deadly officer-involved shooting last summer.
The Los Angeles law firm of Geragos and Geragos has filed a civil suit against the city -- alleging that the Bakersfield Police Department violated the civil rights of suspect Jason Alderman.
Alderman was shot and killed in an Oildale Subway restaurant last August when police thought he was holding a gun -- but was instead holding a tire jack.
Two separate investigations cleared officers of any wrongdoing.
