BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Thursday, a little after 5 p.m. the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Ming Ave. regarding an injury traffic collision.

The investigation revealed a motorist traveling eastbound on Ming Avenue was making a left turn when the rider of a mini-bike, traveling westbound on Ming Avenue, collided with the vehicle.

The motorist fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle in this collision is being described as a 2003 – 2007 Black or Silver Honda Accord. Another motorist, traveling westbound on Ming Avenue, did not see the mini-bike or the rider down in the roadway and collided with both. The second motorist remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

DUI or drugs for the second motorist do not appear to be a factor in the second collision.

The juvenile male rider of the mini-bike was transported to Kern Medical but pronounced deceased after arrival.
