Fatal crash on 7th Standard near Magnolia Avenue, just East of Interstate 5

UPDATE (2:07 PM) : Kern County Sheriff's Office have released the names of two brothers killed in crash Wednesday morning. 

Officials say 13-year-old Hakiam Cooper and 20-year-old Hodari Toussaint Cooper Jr both involved in yesterday's crash died from injuries sustain in the accident. Hakiam Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene. Hodari Cooper Jr was taken to Kern Medical where he died from his injuries. 

California Highway Patrol says older brother Hodari was driving a Dodge Journey going eastbound before crossing over into westbound traffic and colliding with a big rig. 

The crash is still under investigation, so a cause has not yet been determined.

Early reports from the California Highway Patrol show at least one person is dead following a collision on 7th Standard, just East of Interstate 5 Wednesday morning. 

According to the CHP incident website, a car collided head-on with a semi-truck around 6:30 a.m. 

As of 7 a.m. traffic was being diverted from the area at 7th Standard and Magnolia Ave. 

The crash is still under investigation, so a cause has not yet been determined.
