KERN COUNTY, Calif. — A three-vehicle crash on Bear Mountain Boulevard and South Fairfax Road on Monday morning has turned fatal. According to the California Highway Patrol's incidents page, the crash occurred just after 5:15 a.m. Monday morning.
The driver of a Lexus, 32-year-old Victor Paul Cruz, was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the intersection. The Lexus was hit on the driver's side by a Mini Cooper passing through the intersection. The Lexus then went off the road and into a field. A third vehicle sideswiped the Mini Cooper.
Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene. No passengers in the two other vehicles were injured.
This is the second fatal accident at this intersection in the last few weeks.
