A single family home near East California Avenue went up into flames Thursday night.

According to BFD, it has been ruled as a fatal fire leaving one person dead.

BFD firefighters used forcible entry to help crews with an interior search of the structure once the fire had been extinguished.

BFD says, several windows and a door were boarded up upon arrival, along with no utilities to the structure.

No firefighters were injured during the fire. injuries were reported.

BFD Arson Investigators and BPD Officers are currently investigating the situation. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
