BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The woman who died following a motorcycle collision in Oildale on Tuesday has been identified as 50-year-old Deidre Lynn Polson.

Just after midnight Tuesday the California Highway Patrol said a motorcycle was traveling northbound on the manor street overpass just over Roberts Lane. The motorcycle entered a curve and for an unknown reason hit the median center guardrail.

The California Highway Patrol said the male rider suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. But the female passenger, Polson, died at the scene.

According to CHP the reason for the crash is unknown at this time.
