The Kern County Sheriff's Office identified the woman killed in a car crash in Rosamond as 27-year-old Katlyn Alyse Whempner. 

The crash happened August 6 just before 6 p.m. on Mojave Tropico Road, one mile north of Rosamond Boulevard. 

The report said Whempner was driving her car when she collided with another car. She died at the scene.
