The 24-year-old man who was fatally shot Wednesday night in South Bakersfield has been identified as Markus Jones.
Deputies responded to McNew Court near Cottonwood and the 58 Highway around 8:30 p.m. Jones died at the hospital.
The shooting is still under investigation.
