BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol in Buttonwillow are investigating a deadly crash that took place in early Saturday morning.
According to CHP, just after midnight they responded to a call of a Chevy Suburban that rolled over near Stockdale Highway and landed on the center divider.
CHP says a family of five was traveling from San Francisco when a 21-year-old driver drifted into the divider and attempted to regain control causing the rollover. They say three people were thrown from the Suburban, including the 47-year-old father who was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP says two teens, a 13 and 15-year-old were taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. It's still unknown why the 21-year-old drifted into the divider and the investigation is ongoing.
